The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has issued four fact sheets on the disability-related rights of students with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and eating disorders. Each fact sheet describes the condition, explains how the condition may affect a student at school, and provides examples of the steps schools may be required to take to address the needs of a student whose mental health condition substantially limits one or more of their major life activities. Each fact sheet also discusses remedies that may be necessary if a school does not appropriately address the needs of a student with a disability because of the mental health condition.
