Increasing the dialogue among stakeholders in New Jersey’s special education system

Capitol Icon - From the CapitolsIn mid-January, the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) unveiled a new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Educational Resources website. The initiative was designed to support districts in implementing the requirements of P.L.2021, c.32, which was signed into law last fall. That law requires school districts to incorporate instruction on diversity and inclusion in an appropriate place in the curriculum of students in grades kindergarten through 12 as part of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards. The new website has a wide range of resources including articles and evidence-based literature as well as pre-recorded webinars and standards-based lessons that educators can use to develop and deliver high quality, inclusive instruction.
